Giverny

Get ready for another FRANCE post!

So while I was away we went to Giverny, which is where Claude Monet lived. We went to visit his house and his amazing gardens, which was the inspiration for many of his paintings.

It.was.beautiful.

Near the house there was just rows of flowers and different paths to walk around but as you got closer to the bottom of the garden you walked into this area with a pond and all different sorts of trees and flowers growing there.

It was really interesting to look at where Monet drew his inspiration from , but im not very surprised as it would be hard to not be inspired living in a stunning home like that!

Check out some pictures below..

Costa Concordia

Does anyone remember the Costa Concordia, which was a cruise ship that ran into some rocks and ended up sinking?

Well after almost 2 years of just sitting in the water, they are finally going to try and remove the cruise ship. Its a really  risky and interesting process which has engineers from 24 different countrys involved.
There is still over 4,200 peoples belongings and personal items on board not to mention food to feed that many people for a week, which could all spill into the ocean.

Check out this article below which details how exactly they plan on moving the ship!!!

PS. im not wild about the daily mails article about it but they have WAY better pictures so take a look at that article too!

Real Life UP

Ever seen the movie UP?

Well this nutcase is attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean under a bunch of helium balloons...

Totally normal!

I read today that he unfortunately had to abandon his efforts near Newfoundland as there was "technical" problems.

Or someone just realized what a RIDICULOUS idea this was!!!

Centre Pompidou

So while I was in Paris I went the the Centre Pompidou, which is a highly modern designed building that houses the Musee National d'Art Moderne (or for us english speakers the National Museum of Modern Art). There was a Roy Lichtenstein exhibit and a bunch of other cool exhibits ( WARHOL!!!).

It was really cool to see the famous "Brad" paintings in person and the 2nd floor of the gallery was full of out there, modern pieces. I'm pretty sure my mum thinks she could make half of them! hah

I LOVED all the exhibits there but What I actually loved most was how the building also played into the theme of modern art.

Take a look at some of my pictures below!
